Dr. Elizabeth Esther Barkley, EdD, EdS, MPH, is the Superintendent–Chaplain of EMMA Apostolic Private School (APS) and Founder of the EMMA Clinical Educational System. Certified K–12 educator, school counselor, and academic administrator with over 35 years of experience in special education, academic intervention, and systems leadership. Dr. Barkley is an Apostolic Christian Minister and trained Chaplain, integrating faith-based leadership with clinical and research-driven educational practices to advance Lives.

EMMA Academy represents a School of Tomorrow model, where recovery is the foundation of learning, instruction is personalized, and education is fully integrated with clinical insight, faith, and community partnership to produce lasting life outcomes.

EMMA Academy emphasizes intensive learning recovery cycles, offering 3-, 6-, and 9-month programs for students referred by families, schools, and community agencies. These cycles are designed to accelerate academic growth, restore engagement, and prepare students for successful reintegration or continued advancement.

EMMA Academy studies and refines effective practices, providing training, workshops, and professional learning opportunities for educators and administrators. This positions the academy as a leader in recovery-based education and systemic school improvement.

The institution also serves students with complex needs through home-based and facility-based education programs, particularly for those with chronic illnesses or conditions requiring continuous care. These services ensure equitable access to high-quality education regardless of circumstance.
